Our first center of Assisi Snehashram was started in Kattappana. In the year 1996, we had a get together at kattappana for the homeless people of the area. This lasted for five days. After which, a long get-together of the homeless people of the area was held at the Kattappana. Around 150 persons participated in the event and out that with 42 persons we started the project of rehabilitation in a building belonging to the Capuchin order. The District Collector of the Idukki formerly inaugurated the venture. Today, 172 men from various religions and cast backgrounds are given utmost care and protection here.
